odds and ends for 69 280sl
« on: February 24, 2021, 23:43:06 »
I have begun reassembly on a 69 280sl. The car was disassembled for paint and painter died midstream. I have found the trunk chrome pushbutton assy and its associated diecast latch missing. Also missing are the two roughly rectangular INSIDE satin chromed door lock escutcheons, the hood medallion and the u shaped sheet metal strip used to attach the upholstery to the softtop tonneau. Anyone got anything?  THX! Keith

Hi, Keith,

I believe that I have a nice trunk pushbutton with its chrome surround and its matching double-sided, rubber-clad key (like the one below).  It is in storage, but I think I can find it easily.  (I bought it cheap many years ago, just in case I wanted to use the surround, but never did.)

I have available a  hood medallion.
But it's in Europe and used.
