VIN number in brackets
« on: May 15, 2021, 09:49:08 »
Gentlemen,

My car has VIN: 113 044 12 010390 (01).
I have found here on the forum what all these digits stand for, except for the last ... (01). It fascinates me a bit. Anybody who knows what these two digits between brackets mean?

Thanks guys,

Jan

Most interesting. Would you post a photo of that?

I have never seen it but I wonder if back when you could get a new stamped VIN tag from Mercedes if they denoted the replacement tag that way?  I wonder what is stamped on the right side "frame" rail under the throttle body?
