Repair manual
« on: June 12, 2021, 12:56:28 »
Hi all,

I'm looking for a comprehensive automotive repair manual to understand my car and certain parts that are not shown on the user manual. What's a good manual to purchase so I can have it as reference?

Thank you very much,

Seb

I would start with the Haynes manual, it probably covers everything you need. Available no doubt on Amazon and other places.

Agree with Cees, Haynes manual is a good starting place #s well as the Technical Manual in this site. The BBB (Big Blue Book) from a Mercedes dealer is also good but there are a lot of references to special tools to do even basic jobs..... so not as helpful for a novice.....

Also consider the Glenn's and Chilton's repair and tune-up guides.
They are both good, and cheap as used hardbacks:

https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?isbn=9780801955365

The Glenn's version might lack some 280-specific information as it only covers 1959-1966.

Hi,
there is also a lot of online information, not only in German and free of use:  https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Documents/Start#toc-1.2.
You have to register and registered users can access the flipbooks if they have applied to join the "Flipbook Lexikon" in their user profile (control center).
