280sl USA version fuel line
I am installing a new motor from buds benz for my car and not sure if it is missing parts.
I have installed a new set of stainless fuel and brake lines.
based on other pictures, I think that the fuel line in question (red arrow) goes to the barbed fitting on the back of the fuel filter and below the injection pump as labeled with the blue arrow.
I also think that my fitting needs to be rotated 180 degrees and facing towards the front of the car.
I am also missing the line that connects the two; does any one have the part number?
let me know if I am mistaken
thanks
Back to you roriginal question.
I guess you are talking about connection between the fuel damper and fuel return line. Correct? I think you may want to study this: ttps://www.sl113.org/wiki/Fuel/FIPRemoval
The PN for the hose connecting outlet of the damper and the fitting of the return line (it is not 180 deg off, it is ok) is A 108 476 02 26, ca $30-40, available. It has a banjo connector on one end and a connector that should fit your return line on the other end. You will also need two seal rings N 007603 014100 for the banjo connector.
Someone installed a generic banjo connector hoping to put hose on it with a connector to the line somehow. But the part I see in the parts list is what I described above.
On these seal rings - I would buy just a set of seal rings copper or aluminum, various sizes, just to have it on the shelf. For now, I would order from Mercedes, more pieces than I need, to have some spares at hand.
