“W11x chassis cars” are making a mess of the W113 forum

Peter, perhaps a sip of “Bols” Brandy might help temper your opinion that 111 post are making a mess of this site.  Basically, as said in other comments, if you remove the “Skin” of our cars, many look very similar.  There’s the “rub”, that commonality brings folks like me and other who own 111, and other models, in to the equation.  I presently don’t own a 113, but I’ve owned two, selling my last, two years ago, and I’m looking for another suitable for restoration.  I currently own a 111 Coupe and I find the forum very helpful with that car because of all the similar systems;  engines & components, suspension, interior trim, & brakes, and more.  I can’t see where that leads to a “mess”.  LLLL

Maybe some "Oude Jenever" would be a better remedy. I also agree with others that the W111 banter is invaluable for us because of the similarity of parts.

I had and worked on 111 coupes long before I worked on 113's. The similarities are greater than the differences. Besides, there is no other site that covers the mechanicals of both cars as well as this one. So, it's a natural thing that 111 and 108 owners would gravitate to our club.

I just spoke with a guy that has a W111 coupe and is having problems with his electric rear qtr windows binding. I had a nice long conversation with him about the method I used to eliminate that and the parts I developed for that. Yep, he is on the site as well.

Another example of people interacting because they are drawn to the wonderful info on this site. Who knows, he may buy a W113 or may already have one.

Another aspect is, that the W113 is not a high number car (anymore). We need all the help we can get. And if we can get it from discussing W111/108 issues, so be it!

I have both a 113 and a 111 cabriolet and value being able to get help with my 111 numerous times and BTW I am a full paying member!
