Color Code 350
« on: December 24, 2021, 19:27:43 »
I have a '71 Pagoda (built in December 1970) and the paint color on the data card is 350 (both body and hard top).  I was looking through some old Pagoda World issues (July 2007) and found the attached which says that this color was available only through 1968.  I'm all confused.

Was it possible to order a car and and specify a color from previous years?

Also any idea what the letter code means (G vs H) after the numeric number?

Copied and pasted from the Technical Manual:

G supplier Glasurit  http://www.de.glasurit.com
 H supplier Herberts  http://www.standox.de

The number in parenthesis is a reference to where the picture came from or who supplied it.  See "Sources" in the Technical Manual.

"74" was New 350H photo by Andrew Meikle

My late production 1966 230 color is "162 Blue Grey" but availability indicates 1963 - 1965.

I think color availability was a "mixed bag" when it comes to documentation.  My best guess is that if Mercedes offered the color somewhere in their vehicle line up, you could order it.

Our Technical Manual shows the attached for the 350H Colour Code.

As for the definishion of G or H you ask about I dont know. The image below also shows (74) I dont know if that means the colour was also used in 1974? perhaps another member can explain it.

Go to our Terch Manual and enter "Colour Code" the page may explain what you are looking for.

The 74 is the footnote for source which names the person who posted the photo.  Thanks for your input!
