I leave the glove box closed, and slide it out from the right (as you face it) and then tilt down and toward you to the left to pull it out. I also leave the connecting wire on the left side in place, but I do disconnect the two prong junction at the pressure switch on the right. That way the light stays out until you are ready to re-connect things. As the others have said, it is just a matter of sort of playing with it to get it out, not really a hugely complicated thing.
