Glove Box Removal

I am going to remove the glove box (easy job that I can handle) to get to the radio inline fuse (I suspect it was burned after I replaced a burned #1 fuse). I want to do it properly so that I won't mess-up the spring mechanism (it is working). My plan is to loosen the six screws (2 top and 4 bottom); close and secure the glove box door again; and slide the whole thing out. Please advice. Also like to knowe how to disconnect the glove light wire.

It's been a while for me on this project.  I don't think you can remove the box with the door in the closed position.  The spring mechanism will not fit.  It has to be slid out partially open as I recall.  Same goes for re-installing.  There is a two terminal screw connector on the side of the heater box behind the glove box that secures the electrical connection to the lamp.

I usually remove the upper and lower screws and pull the box out.
you have to pull the rt side out first then the left.

Not much that can go wrong here. I usually let the glove box hang by the light wire rather than disconnecting that.

I leave the glove box closed, and slide it out from the right (as you face it) and then tilt down and toward you to the left to pull it out. I also leave the connecting wire on the left side in place, but I do disconnect the two prong junction at the pressure switch on the right. That way the light stays out until you are ready to re-connect things. As the others have said, it is just a matter of sort of playing with it to get it out, not really a hugely complicated thing.

More or less irrelevant, bu mine has a total of 8 screws. Bottom 4, Top 2 and 1 on each side. I slide mine out with door open (and like Cees, I leave it all attached.
