Greetings, I have been looking for left/right fresh air flaps for a '70 280SL.  Does anyone know if there much difference in the quality between the different suppliers (SLS, Buds, Niemoller, Authentic... and a few others)? Do the suppliers all purchase from the same Mfg?  Prices range from about $300 to $450. I'm concerned with the quality of the plastic material..., don't want to have to access these anytime in the near future if one breaks.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers and God Bless,
JohnnyC

The left one is available at Mercedes for less than EUR 100. That is where I would buy the left one.

Awesome, Thank you Pawel66.  Do you think Merc Classic Center (MCC) in Irvine, CA would be able to order it? I suppose they would.

Cheers, JohnnyC.

Wow, Great info!  Thank you Pawel66.  I'll ask MCC tomorrow with those P/Ns.

I'll post for others to know what is available, or not available.

Cheers and God Bless,
JohnnyC.

Well..., the left and right flaps are NLA at MCC Irvine.  I'll start searching other MBz parts suppliers that have aftermarket flaps available.

Cheers and God Bless,
JohnnyC

Hi, JohnnyC,

As I said in a different thread recently, I ordered a left-side flap from Marcel Kappen (in the Netherlands) a few months ago for €1115.  I was very pleased with the service and the product (the part was indistinguishable from my original, except not broken).  Here's a link to the right one, which is available for the same price (plus shipping).  Overall, I paid about €147 shipped to the US.

I think David may have misplaced a decimal point. In looking at the referenced site it is Euro 115.00

Thank you all for your input and advice, such a great group of people to be associated with. Without this Forum, it would take me much more time to get my car sorted-out correctly, and back on the road again.

Cheers and God Bless,
JohnnyC.
