Gear box oil leakage
« on: March 23, 2022, 19:37:17 »
Hi, my 230 SL 66 gearbox is leaking oil a bit from the nut marked in attached picture. Is there any risk if I drain the oil and open it?

Regards
Timo

That holds the reverse shaft in place so don't remove it. You can try removing just the nut and applying a bit of sealer before cleaning with brake cleaner. Seal the threads and back side of the nut and tighten securely. This would be a seeping type of leak so it shouldn't take much to stop it from leaking.
