Tie Rods -- OE or Aftermarket?
« on: May 16, 2005, 08:45:36 »
I noticed this ebay dealer selling a pair of tie rods very cheaply. I'm thinking these aren't OEM parts, but does it matter?

And isn't Mercedes now making them in an annoying shade of red instead of black?

I'v had problems with this seller not having the parts he put's on ebay, and waiting 7 to 10 weeks for a refund.

Given the cost of labor and potential problems with after market products, I stick with genuine MB parts.  There are some items that are made by the same supplier to MB that I will buy, like the exhaust system.

I bought essentially all new suspension parts--bushings, tie rods, king pins, etc.  They came from either Miller's or form All Euro, both well known suppliers.  They appear to be just fine.

Just got the scoop -- the Bilstein tie rods are black and the Moog tie rods are red.
