Removing from Winter

Separate of inflating the tires, changing oil and filter and fresh gas--what else would you recommend after a long winter?

Well, Steven, for one thing, you should have changed the oil BEFORE storing your car. You need to get rid of all contaminants and moisture in the oil before letting the car sit for the winter months.
I hope you at least put some sort of fuel stabilizer in the car and filled the tank up to prevent rust forming on the inside.
There is actually more to do before putting in storage than when pulling the car out.
I also inflate the tires to 50-55 PSI to prevent flat spots from sitting.

I agree on pre-storage oil change, but don't lose sleep over it, just do it going forward.  Otherwise, assuming things were fine before storage, just start her up and go...gently.  Let her get good and warmed and loosened up, all fluids well circulated and warm before driving more aggressively or shutting down.

 Before changing your oil, get it good and hot and circulated, as described above.

Now is a good time to wash your car - pull the carpets and look in the corners for any evidence of staining from water.  Vacuum and wipe down the upholstry with a material appropriate elixir, clean your windows - wipe down the windshield wipers and start the engine and once warm stick your head under the hodd to see if there are any funny smells or leaking fluids.     Then you can look at the Mercedes prescribed maintenance schedule and check a few items like fluids on the list just for fun.

I don't put my car away for the winter but I do the above on the oil change day anyways.
