Exhaust pipe and rear axle spacing
« on: May 10, 2022, 23:17:04 »
I am installing a new exhaust system and have gotten to the trial fit stage. The system seams to fit well but I am concerned about the distance between the top of the exhaust pipes and the rear axle. I currently have just over a 1” gap.
I looked through a number of photo sites but did not see any where I could make out the distance.

Can anyone tell me if I have enough distance to allow the axle movement.

I’m not sure what the distance should be because I’ve got my rear end apart but is the car up with the wheels hanging? or wheels in the normal position?

I never thought to jack up the car. Da

I currently have it on my four post lift on its wheels. I will try jacking it up.

Thanks

It's good the car is on its wheels; 1 inch sounds ok to me - just make sure to give the system a good wiggle when all together to make sure it doesn't touch the body of the car.
