Headlight/electrical Problem
« on: May 20, 2003, 20:19:54 »
dear Group,
I am seeking help regarding a problem that I am having with the high beam on my left headlight. My headlights are Marcels with separate halogen bulbs. I confirmed that the bulb is good. All other lamps are working fine, except the right high beam when flashing as used to indicate overtaking (while at the same time the left flashing beam works fine).
When I switch on my highbeams, the left side does not work. I checked the power lead to the bulb with a voltage meter and there are 12 volts between the lead and ground.
All of the fuses look fine, but I have not changed or tested them.
Anyone had this problem or can anyone give me some advise on whatelse to check?
Thanks.

Regards,
Stan

A bad ground can cause all kind of strange problems. Make sure the plug and prongs on the bulb are clean. You can get a spray electrical contact cleaner at an autoparts store or Radio Shack to clean the surfaces and the plug.
