steering wheel swap
« on: July 14, 2022, 15:17:49 »
I located an original type ivory steering wheel for my late model 250 sl.
The ivory wheel came with the back hub.
Can I swap the steering wheel by just removing the nuts under the horn pad, or must the entire wheel/hub assembly be swapped out ?
thanks,

Just remove the 22mm nut. Pay attention to the alignment mark (slash) that it is pointing upward and wheels straight. Just slide the new one on.

If you are just replacing the wheel you don’t need to remove the hub and can just remove the 5 bolts.

Thanks gents, we removed the 22mm nut and replaced the wheel with it's hub. A simple job.
Even though the ivory wheel was original to the car, the car came to me with a black wheel.
Wow, what a difference the ivory wheel make to the interior. It brightens everything up in the cabin.
