If the 230SL pininfarina sold last week for US$1.2M, how much will this sell for?

When I was a young lad of 15, I spent the summer in Europe with a lot of that time in the Netherlands. One day, my uncle who was also visiting his sister (my aunt) over there, was interested in maybe buying a new car for her. We went looking at a VW dealer, but soon the dealer drove us to a distribution center nearby where there was a veritable FLEET of K70s. (our European friends, anyone remember this?) I thought it was kind of cool. We never got it, and my aunt's old Taunus (German Ford) soldiered on.

But the K70 reminded me just a little bit of what Adelaide has brought to our attention...at least the front appearance.

The K70 was originally designed and developed by Audi-NSU. Right before the takeover by VW. The new owners cancelled the introduction of the car as an Audi and brought it to market as a Volkswagen.

I never knew that such a venerable design house, such as Pininfarina, used an etch-a-sketch to develop their design proposals! Not only that, once they came up with the one design principle, they seemed to have stretched it in various directions to fit any floor plan, totally disregarding the previous ‘heritage’.

Not often on can say German design can outshine Italian ar designers.  I’ve heard of having an off day, but really, what we’re they thinking that in any way this could be considered as a well thought out design 🤣🤣🤣

It looks like they made a hard shell case for a Pagoda.

lol...  I kept waiting to read about the client specifying it be bullet proof and bomb proof, at which point I would have thought, "Makes total sense, because it's 25mm plate and weighs 20 tons."
