subframe mounts
« on: July 21, 2022, 17:24:49 »
Hi all, I wonder if someone could advise me. I am looking to replace my subframe mounts as mine are shot. MB are asking around £650 for the kit where as after market ones are around £200. Is the much difference in them and who makes the MB mounts as there must be a massive mark up on them. Are the MB ones just far superior to after market ones. Thanks

I think there’s a lot of previous discussions on the topic and which brands might be better.

The biggest expense in the kit is the metal parts which are normally not needed.

I did mine a couple weeks ago at the same time I did the engine mounts and did the rear axle centermount the week before, all aftermarkets parts, now it feels much better and as I only drive part of the year I think the aftermarket parts will do the job as good as the OE for me.

I was thinking of just buying the mounts as I can reuse all the other bits, if I was to go down the after market route which ones should I go for as the all look identical and which ones to avoid

You can buy the aftermarket ones for a 108 for example. about $100. (Febi / Bilstein)

Have chosen to give the aftermarket ones a go. Saving of around £350 against the MB 108 kit. Would be nice to know who makes the MB ones though
