« on: June 14, 2005, 15:05:48 »
Hello,
I am going to remove my radiator, thermostat, water pump and that cooling line to my overflow tank.
Are there any gotcha's that I should know about in adavance?

I am going to send the radiator, thermostat & water pump housing & line to gernold at sl tech for restoration.

thanks
matt

I would soak the allen head bolts holding the thermostat housing on with a little penetrating oil for 24hrs beforehand. These have been know to shear !

Also be careful of the little "C" shaped bypass tube at the front near the pump. The two bolts are hollow and again they can shear, soak them and in fact you really should order a few new ones, they are cheap !
