Monogram tags for 190sl

My uncle previously owned a 190sl that he traded in for the 280sl (that I now own).

In his collection of stuff, I've come across monogram tags, looking like they are made for the interior of the car. Two sets of tags, with "K" and "M" and brackets to support. Brand new, still in original bags. These are original MB parts as it came in an envelope with the return address of South Bend 27, Indiana. The post mark says "1961" so I know its for the 190sl.

Asking $40. See below for picture. I've tried to research exactly what these are but I haven't found any information. Perhaps one of you can shed some light?

Cool find.  Maybe they were for a luggage set or for something totally unrelated and just stored in an envelope from a Mercedes dealer.

That's a good guess and probably correct. I was not thinking about luggage but it would make sense to monogram your luggage and not your car.

If your initials are MK, KM, KK or MM and you have vintage MB luggage, this is a sign you need this!
