Battery Cables
« on: June 18, 2005, 09:36:53 »
As I look to replace my battery cables, I noted that the short, negative cable is 12" and the positive cable, going to the starter, is 64".  These seem to fit pretty well with a slight bit of slack.

:?: Does anyone know what the original length was, should be?
:?:  :?: Does anyone know what the correct wire gauge should be?  1,4,6?

Thanks!
Bob

Bob,

Just replaced my aftermarket cables--both positive and negative--with factory new ones.  The aftermarket are just fine for all but show cars...if you want them we can strike a deal before they go on eBay.  A proper positive cable is $112....

Hi Mike,

Thanks anyway....  I ended up putting some after market cables in for now.  I was just curious about what the original factory gauge was.  Also the original length.

Thanks!
