Firewall pad source
« on: May 28, 2023, 01:01:02 »
Anybody know of one with the  more original "waffle weave" pattern? Not pebble grain.
Authentic Classics stopped selling these because the pattern stamping was too "light" and they had excessive returns.

After extensive searching, this is the best and most original diamond pattern firewall padding on the market. You can buy a length and cut to fit your car perfectly, or buy a pre cut set.

Fast service and shipping, five stars ⭐️ (I have no affiliation with this supplier).

As I recall these folks were the first on the market with an "authentic" pad. I should have remembered, but thank you for supplementing my memory.

What size is the vintage autoparts sheet, would you get 2 out of the sheet for a 113?

Yes, you can get two pads (two cars) from one sheet. Garry and I shared the cost and got one each. See my photo on previous post below. Just cut to size and easy enough job.

Gordon,
I'm overseas, but I may be interested in the other half.  Let me know in a PM about the quality of the pad, the textured design, price.  Hopefully trans-Atlantic shipping would not be prohibitive of this arrangement.  In the mean time, I'll look around over here for one.

Firewall pad arrived today.  First impressions, quite thin and not pliable although it should soften with heat, has a sticky back.

I have 50% left over measuring 260 mm. X 1450 mm  cost me 275 us plus £45 UK customs duty . If anyone is interested I'll post it for sale

Years ago I bought my firewall pad from Vintage Europarts - very happy until today.

For Europe you may consider manufacturer of insulation pads for 113, 107, 111: szkody@zienkiewicz.eu

No association. I did not buy these firewall pads, I bought from him sound dampening materials for Pagoda and for 190SL.
