Radiator for manual transmission 1970 280SL
« on: August 01, 2023, 21:36:39 »
Is the standard radiator for the 280SL one chamber, or two chamber?  I thought my mechanic was saying something about the number of chambers, that more chambers contribute to better cooling when running the A/C.  Or maybe he was talking about rows.

I understand that the below is a three row radiator that may be used with either manual or automatic transmission 280SL.

Hier
the efficiency of a radiator depends, among other things, on the air flow (the more and higher the better), the materials used (brass/copper/aluminium -  thermal conductivity) and the power density (how much coolant can be cooled in what time).
Original Pagoda radiators are 2 rows cooler, mostly overhauled 3 rows to achieve higher cooling performance.

A1135010001 is the part number for 280SL regardless automatic or manual.

I just see a note it is for LHD cars. No idea what would be the difference for RHD...
