Mercedes Benz Club Czech Republic
« on: September 10, 2023, 10:23:25 »
I have looked at the site of the Mercedes Club Ceska Republika, mercedesclub.cz. There is plenty of information on Mercedes cars that I found useful, therefore decided to share the site address.

The Czech Mercedes Benz Club is the oldest Mercedes club in Europe, actually, which was a new information to me.

The Polish Mercedes Benz Classic Club cooperates very closely with the Czech Mercedes-Benz Club Ceska Republika. There was a significant representation of the Polish Club crews in the recent event held in Prague by the Czech Club.

The Czech Club is close to my heart as I work in Prague.

I hope you will find their site interesting.

Dear Pawel

Thank you so much for sharing that info. I found there one manual I was looking for in order to remove the fuel tank of a R129 project car that I just bought.

Best regards

Dear Leo,

Happy to hear you found it useful!

They also have place for services advertising.

Should you have issues with language (I believe, however, that Google translate works), let me know.

Pawel,  Good to hear.  We'll be drawing on their content when we START, beefing up our tech manual content.

BTW, my father's family came to the US in about 1904 from a place near Stara Lubovna in what is now Slovakia and what was called Hungary then, just over the Tatras from Krakow.  My Grandmother told me that after ruling the Piast Dynasty for 350 years, they fled Poland because they had a fight with the Pope and wanted to reform the church from Roman Catholic to Eastern Orthodox.

She was very old and I was very young though.  The family name was spelled Mieszko until Ellis Island, supposedly.

Someday I hope to make it over there.

Thanks for the heads up on the CZ club.

The castle is still there in Stara Lubovna, partly functioning as a museum, partly ruined. It is indeed a couple of hours drive from Cracow and Cracow is not difficult to fly to from the US, through Warsaw. Mieszko is functioning in the Polish language as a first name. Rare, but it is there.

The Piasts were rulling, I would say, closer to 400 years, a bit more, actually, sometime like 966 - 1370 (before 966 it is a bit blurred). The last one, Casimirus the Great, was, as it seems, a pretty cool king.

Hope the Czech site offers some useful information on Mercedes benz.
