Hard top seal for California Coupe
« on: December 18, 2023, 15:20:23 »
I posted on this subject a few months back and thanks for the helpful comments. Since then, I made a number of inquiries to try and find the proper hard top seal for my 250SL California Coupe restoration. I finally got one that fits the channel properly and sits flush with the body from Mercedes-Benz Classic in California. When I go online and see restored California Coupes, I see some where the seal sits above the body by quite a bit (like the one I was sent from Buds Benz), and some where it is flush. I believe flush is the correct fit but before I send the higher seal back to Buds wanted to see if any fellow California Coupe owners with the original seal in place could confirm the proper fit.
I have added pics of my car with the flush seal in place and a couple of pics of restored cars with an example of each fit.
Thanks for the assistance.

It's higher than the standard seal and the same part at all.
