RHD Accelerator Sill Protection Plastic

Hello to all the RHD owners out there,

Can anyone give me some guidance around how the plastic piece next to the accelerator pedal fits on the sill?

I mean, I know how it fits, I just want to know if the carpet piece along the sill runs under it or just butts up to it?

Looking at the witness marks on my car, I would hazard a guess that it stops short, but in my head, I think it would look neater if it ran underneath it.

Any comments or photos of your carpet in that corner would be greatly appreciated.

My replacement carpet, that came from Cabrio.de runs underneath the protective strip.
