How much are m129 engines worth these days?
« on: February 18, 2023, 17:24:39 »
I have a running m129 and 4spd manual (132k miles) in my 67 w108 250se. Everything works as it should. I would like to sell them because I'll be swapping in a m275 + 6spd manual. But, I have no clue how much these are going for. I'm not trying to make all the money in the world but market value would be nice. I haven't seen any for sale to give me a estimate of a fair asking price.

The Mercedes 6spd that were put behind the Mercedes v6 engines (m272 for example) bolt to the v8 and v12 engine of the same era. My w108 will be getting a v12 from a 2005 cl600, I'll be using a 6 spd with it until it breaks and I get something stronger.

With that said, I want to sell the m129 and 4spd manual that's currently in my w108. I want to know what y'all think a fair price range is for this drivetrain.

It's difficult to give you a price because although you say everything works as it should, it's hard to know how much wear and tear exists.  After all it's over 100k. You can check with Metric motors https://mercedesengines.net/

Thank you. I just need to find somewhere to sell it. Im not trying to make a whole lot of money on it. More so just need the space and would hate to see it go to waste.

I would day somewhere between $750 and $1,250 for the combo.
I bought 14 engines like yours some years ago for between $250 and $650.

I'm looking for a spare M129 for myself, and I'd be interested if you could help me with transport to harbor.
If it's still valid of course.
Greetings!

I might be looking for a good core as well; I'm in Canada though. So in line...if it's still available...

Sorry I sold the engine last year.

My 250se has a 5.4 m113 v8 partially in right now.
