Does anyone know where to get this switch?
« on: April 10, 2024, 03:02:47 »
Since I'm replacing my contaminated clutch, I want to clean up my transmission while its out and replace the wiring and switches around it.   There are two of these switches mounted up top that need to be replaced.  They trigger when in 3rd or 4th gear.  When you let off the gas pedal, the circuit is completed to the FIP shutoff solenoid to stop fuel waste when decelerating in 3rd or 4th.

One of the switches is seized up and I'd like to replace them both, but I just cant find them on any of the usual parts websites, nor can I figure out a mercedes part number, although clearly they are made by some other supplier, maybe Bosch, but I dont see that logo, just see a stylized "K" with W. Germany imprinted on the bottom, along with a number "1859".

I think they may only exist on US 4 speed models from 1968 onward when the automotive pollution devices started being mandated.

Please speak up if you have any idea where to look for these, even if its just a general sense which german electronics company might have made them or has that logo.

My backup plan is to just kluge up a replacement switch from some new part, but getting those pins right would be a pain so I'd probably just make a new harness up to the nearest connectors and reuse the old plugs.

I sure do appreciate this forum.  I've been all over it the last week and has helped me greatly.  Thanks to all you who have invested your time and knowledge here.  -Mark

Hi,
the part number should be A 00 054 584 11 replaced by A  004 545 04 14 replaced by A  004 545 18 14.
You can find it e.g. here

You can also get them at Mercedes dealers (at least here in Europe), price is about $35.

Used in many MB cars, including W123, W124 and R107.

You also could drill out the rivets, take it apart and clean out the contacts. Then either re-rivet it or get small screw replacements.

I finally received these switches, from Mercteil via Latvia, after canceling an order through a supplier that was sourcing through Iran.  Worth the wait, they are exactly correct, down to the stamped "8059" part number and "West Germany" molded into the plastic.
