New rubber A post seals.
« on: August 19, 2024, 02:57:09 »
I recently bought two new oem seals for the A pillar/ window door glass , for both L & R sides.
The seals are not handed, so fit either side.
Both had one end open, the other end with a solid plug and a red dot marking.
Both are to be cut to size and shaped to join the seal at the top over the window.
I assume the solid end goes at the bottom , to the door, where it is engaged with the small and very expensive clip which fits in the chrome seal channel, supporting the inside edge of the seal.
Is my assumption correct or does the solid end go to the top .
I questioned SLS but the answer did not address the question.
Thanks,
Mike

The closed end goes on the top. In the past these parts were L and R, them unified. I have a cut piece of rubber sheet glued on the top of the one that came out with empty top.

Make sure you have the X clips in the chrome rail. They hold the seals in place.
