Hi Folks.................will this heat shield fit my 69 280sl #011428? Perhaps with minor modifications?

Check your engine number - the Authentic Classics text says
"**Fits 280SL with manual Transmission up to engine Nr. ending in 005133
** Fits 280SL with Automatic Transmission up to engine Nr. ending in 008386"
It seems they have a similar price shield for later engines too.
