Upholstery question
« on: March 31, 2025, 17:06:04 »
Apologies as I am sure this has been covered many times but unfortunately I couldn't find the answer in the search field.

I am getting ready to purchase a new interior from German Auto Tops. My data card for my 64' 230SL shows interior code 221 (white gray leather) and I've decided to go with parchment.

Originally, if the car had leather does that mean that the door panels, top lid cover, kick panels, and dash were leather also? Or were some of these MBTEX vinyl?

My original thought was to do leather seats and everything else would be MBTEX Vinyl, but German Auto Tops told me this wouldn't be correct.

Appreciate the clarification.

It is not 230Sl and not your upholstery code, but as for materials it may be not far.

Brandini - as you will see from the document Pawel provided, the leather interior was essentially all leather and no MBTex.  In my opinion if you are going  to install a new interior you should go all the way and do it correctly.

Good luck.
