Appraisal in southern California
« on: December 06, 2005, 16:20:42 »
Any recommendations for an appraiser in southern California?

I'm considering changing the insurance for my 230SL (and maybe my BMW 3.0CS) to Hagerty's or a similar firm, and I expect an appraisal will be needed.

The new Classic Center in Irvine will eventually do appraisals, but apparently not for a while yet.

Thanks,

Chris Earnest

Can't help with the appraisal but would recommend Grundy Insurance if you don't drive the car as an everyday vehicle. I pay about $200.00 a year for FULL COVERAGE and $25,000 in replacement value. I just sent in photos plus NADA values and the VIN number of my daily drivers so they knew the 113 was not a primary vehicle.

I have my 280sl and a 67 mustang insured with Haggerty. They did not ask for an appraisal, just photos and a stated value. the premiums and they payout (if you have a total loss)are based on that stated value. I suppose if the stated value is out of an expected range they would want the appraisal.
