Chokes when it gets hot..???
« on: December 04, 2005, 20:26:11 »
Hello.
My Sl is teasing me little bit, maybe you can tell me were to start.
When I start the car and the engine is cold, it runs and drives great. But after 5 min when it gets hot, the car starts to choke when I drive it on low speed in gear, and give it some throttle(gas). To prevent the choking I have to clutch and   then give it some RPM to get him rolling.
I tried to fill the tank and added some injector cleaner in the tank, but doesent work.

Do you know this problem??

Thanx  :)

Hello Sezar,

It sounds like your engine is starving for fuel when it warms up. Start with the inexpensive things first, like a new fuel filter.

There are many other things you can check like the linkage, warm up device, vlave adjustment, and injection mixture adjustment.

Try the filter first if it has not been changed in recent history. Keep us up to date.
