what I love most is the roar of the engine when shifting gears from 2nd to 3rd and the sound of the shutting of the perfectly adjusted door. This might seem crazy but these are sounds you will only hear coming out of a 113.I also love the bodily curves and the sightof the rounded chrome bumpers as well as the real roadster feeling you get while riding around in it.

All good points & I still am anxiously waiting to see a photo of "Carling" next to your GT40. Both gorgeous machines in totally different ways. The previous owner of my first Pagoda had that same combination of cars in his garage.

Now if I understand you correctly, your Pagoda is making popping sounds on deceleration? If it is, I think you may have a mixture issue.... It shouldn't do that.

I used the term that I understand the Brits use for back pressure release (not backfire!).  Some back pressure is good in order to create suction that draws off spent gases, and it makes the noise I referred to.  What I refer to is a healthy burble you would expect from a properly timed engine when the throttle is closed from a high RPM.  Sorry if I implied that Carling is ill.  

As she lives in Sarasota and the GT40 is firmly entrenched in France, there will likely not be a pic of them together any time soon.  As they are both red, it would make a pretty sight...
