Hey, that's a nice kit. It's missing the big water pump pliers, but it has the early wooden-handled screwdriver. Very rare.

Not exactly on topic, but here is a tool kit for the MB 600,  ebay item 4607026113. currently at USD 230, but still time left for sniping. Quite a complete set of tools, but then I guess they wanted to make sure the chauffeur could keep the machine running.

Thanks Naj,

This looks like an original kit. The long handled waterpump pliers and wheel alignment tool are missing if they were in all W113 kits? Also notice the end treatment of the lug wrench. I believe the little claw is to remove the small early "hub cap" style cover. I believe the later W113 cars had lug wrenches with a blunt end for use on the full wheel covers.

A little earlier, Naj posted a link for that tool kit selling on ebay.  Do you all think that the canvas looks like the original?  I was wondering if there should be a MB star stitched into the canvas...?

Hello Craig,

The common sedan canvas tool rolls have a Mercedes emblem and "Mercedes Benz" on the exterior. I have an original W113 kit also an see no markings. I suspect it is faded out or may have never had one. I suspect that most of the kits do have them.

Craig, Joe -- The canvas tool roll, that came with my car when I bought it over 20 years ago, is made of a sort of olive drab green flexible material, not particularly heavy, which is simply folded over then rolled up and tied with a couple of loose straps.  No M-B logo nor words.  No snaps either, just a couple of cloth straps for tying it up into a roll.

Tom,

That's probably a tool roll for a W 114. The 280 SL kit had snaps. Is it dark red or green?

Douglas -- Thanks.  I'd always wondered about that.  In response to your question, it is green.

That's a W 114 tool roll. The good news is it's the same tools, so all you have to do is find another case. Easily done on ebay.

Just as a follow up, the tool kit for the MB 600 pullman was a no sale on Ebay at USD 312.
