Stainless steel exhaust system
« on: March 02, 2006, 23:07:17 »
Nothing much on this topic for a while and as I am just about to renew my system, what is the latest concensus on fitting a S/S system against mild steel.

Has anyone fitted the S/S system sold by SLS in Germany and can comment on it, does it change the soundtrack that much.

Also how much difference do the heat shields make, mine have been lost at some time although I have not noticed too much heat build up will this increase with a S/S system?

Thanks

Hi, Rob,

Can't remember if your car is LHD or RHD....

I got the stainless system from Socrim in Italy because he also supplied the downpipes (headers??) for the 280.
I beleive SLS did not do them and mine were shot.

The exhaust note is raspier than before but I kinda like that......
If you do long runs in the summer then heat shields are a must in my opinion.
