Drain holes
« on: April 17, 2006, 20:34:16 »
I know this subject has been discussed several times in the past, and I did a thorough search about the multiple drain holes in our cars. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good pictures showing some of these tricky holes.

My problem is that who ever restored my car previously did cover the drain holes exit on the engine firewall with paint, and the one that open into the wheel well with rubberized under coating and I can't find them.

I'm desperate for pictures showing the exit drain holes( in prevoius discussion someone said it suppose to open into the wheel well right next or under the small chrom strip???) for the soft top compartment, and the one that drain the flat area in the engine bay next to the firewall ( I think one under the radiator over flow     and on the opposit site under the master cylinder) I can't find these holes.

Thanks

I think they are located near the rear end of a seam where two inner fender pieces come together.  This seam then intersects with the firewall.  One is located under the overflow tank and the other under the master cylinder.  The seam runs from the front of the car towards the cockpit where it then meets another section of the firewall which runs from side to side.  This intersection and drain hole is at the lowest in this section.  If I'm correct you should be able to take a 1/2 cup of water and pour it in the seam.  At the intersection of body parts that I'm talking about you will find the low point and location of a drain hole.

Thanks Jeff

I think I found the holes in the engine bay. I still can't find the exit drain holes for the soft top.
