Throttle linkage rod coordination/calibration
« on: June 06, 2006, 01:56:46 »
To:  All-Knowing Pagoda Elders,
Please help me !  I would like to check the adjustment coordination of the throttle control linkage rods between the gas pedal, fuel injector pump unit, air intake venturi, and a fourth rod (which I have yet to determine what its lower end connects to) and am aware that in order to do this, two special gauge tools with MB part nos.  127 589 01 23  and  111 589 04 23   are necessary.
Does anyone have these two gauges or know even of a dealer service dept. or MB technician (retired or not) in the USA who has them?
If yes, would he or they be willing to loan or rent them to me (completely at my expense) for a brief period so I could check my car's adjustment and then return them to their owner?

This would be greatly appreciated !

Pagoda Lilly,
A lot of time the special guages are not necessary. There is a lot of information if you do a search on linkage or linkage adjustment. Here is a good place to start.
