Depressing...
« on: June 26, 2006, 12:37:30 »
Took my car in today for the new carpets to be fitted.

While I was there I had a nose around the garage.

A Volvo Amazon
A Panzerwagen
A Ponton
A Ponton Convertible
A decrepit 190SL

oh, and did I mention the 6 Gullwings?

We should remmber to focus on being thankful for what we have rather than what we don't have.

(this from a man who has never been in a room with 6 gullwings so it's very easy for me to say!)

Tosh

Even my Investment Committee would struggle with a Gullwing - not that I have even drafted an outline pre-investment appraisal. Frankly, the name "Gullwing" is a problem. If you can sort the name (it would be good to include a key word such as trust, guaranteed, preferred or secured) and find ten or so co-investors, we could discuss a syndicate.

Took the Pagoda to Glasgow today. Business meeting in the shadow of Ibrox football stadium - this is a place where the greeting "Wotch yoor cor mister?" means could I please have five pounds sterling to protect your vehicle from the ever present threat of vandalism while you are absent rather than an enquiry as to whether the vehicle is a W113 or a R107. Survived unscathed and saw a "live" ivory Pagoda roof down on the way back to Edinburgh. Would have flashed my lights but I can't do that on my US spec 280! Does anyone know why US regulators did/do not trust their citizens with the unfettered right to flash headlights at oncoming vehicles?

I won't take the syndicate Gullwing to Ibrox on either of my two weekends per year.

Regards
Andrew

Oh yes

Flash a car in the US and someone in the other car will shoot you. It's a gang initiation routine. According to urban legend.... :D
