trunk (boot) question
« on: April 02, 2004, 19:17:04 »
The mount for my spare tire has a bracket with a notch extending out on the left side. What is this for? Could someone post a picture of how the jack, etc. are arranged in the trunk (less the spare)?
Thanks,
Joe

That is for the triangle shape wheel chock to keep your car from rolling when you jack it up. I see these chocks sell on ebay and vendor site's for roughly $40.00 It attaches with a large wing nut...pretty nifty these german engineer's. You will not find that kind of safety item in modern day cars. None that I know of anyways.
Good luck

Does anyone know if the wheel chock was used on other MB's?  Mine is missing and I would like to replace it.  I've found that parts from sedans can be had pretty cheaply.
Thanks,
Don

Not sure what happened to this thread.  Is the chock widely available.  Mine is missing too?

Thanks,

I have a part listing as 110 583 0175 which would indicate that it was not specfic to the 113 cars. I think these show up on ebay on a reasonable basis. Millers, SLS etc might also be a good place to check.

Thanks Jonny.  It's weird, I called up Millers, buds benz and they did not have it, then I called the classic center and they said that it was no longer produced even in Germany.

Update...Just called my dealer to check on the part number they could not find it...maybe its not produced anymore?

SLS shows it on their site for 215 euros. The description reads...
