Nice car Eduardo! And a very nice story too, that this car returned to the family.
Just a few things I noted that you may want to consider at some stage:
- on most cars, the lower door sills (area below the doors) is (and was originally) painted flat black. Especially on lighter colored cars such as yours, this makes the car look much lighter/slimmer
- also the flat metal area behind the grille is usually painted flat black
- the center steering wheel pad looks like it should be white rather than black
- the original fuel cap was most likely chrome
- also the inside rearview mirror originally would have been chrome I believe
- the 230 SL's had different style hubcaps (two piece rather than one piece)
- you are probably aware the car is missing its sunvisors
Sorry for being so picky! If your car was in Mexico City in 2001, chances are that his is the car I saw parked there on the side of the road in February of that year. In the week I spent there, this was the only classic car that I saw (besides the 1 million plus VW Beetles that is  :) )

Dear Cees, No picky, those are good observations,  since i am quiet new in this area, the sun visors i removed because they were in a very bad shape and i am trying to find some repair.
This car lived most of his years in San Antonio TX, the uncle i bought it back lived there and sent the car to a local PORSCHE! specialist to do some retouchings.
I will keep on the list you sent in order to get the car on its best shape
Thanks
Eduardo

Could be a very rare car. There were very few 1967 230 SLs. Is it an actual 1967 or is it a 1966 titled as a 1967 model?

The original invoice is missing and the car is titled as a 1967, is there a way to chek dates via serial number or engine number?

Yes Eduardo. I think the easiest way is for you to determine the VIN or chassis number on the car (usually located on the plate on the firewall), and then look at Production Month Chart within the Databases link on our Homepage to find out what month your car was produced.

Even so, a June 1966 production European import from just about any manufacturer would very well have been marketed as a 1967 model in North America since it wouldn't have hit a showroom until sometime in the fall of 1966, when most manufacturers were already rolling out the 1967 models.  My 1966 230SL was a February build unit supposedly special ordered by the original owner (in the same color combination as his 1959 220SE, according to his daughter) and was only delivered to him in August of 1966.  My 1987 Jaguar XJ6 was built in May of 1986.
