need help with F.I pump identification
« on: September 03, 2006, 18:44:51 »
Hello All,

There is an injection pump on eBay right now. I need info about the differences between the several versions. To bid or not to bid is the real issue here.

Questions come to mind:   which ID plate is the most important identifier for the overall assembly?   the one just under  discharge plungers? or the smaller one down lower towards the rear of the pump?

My engine is an M130.980 - 12- 010886. My injection pump is missing the larger of the two data plates. The small one reads <  EP/RLA  1/11R  >.

 The pump on eBay reads < EP/RLA  1/33R >.

Any and all input appreciated,  Thanks, Larry in CA

Lurtch,

based on engine number, I'm guessing you have a '69 280 SL.  For a US spec car, the correct injection pump has the following longer number: PES 6 KL 70 B 120 R 20 Y.

The last 4 above (R 20 Y) are the main identifies from model to model.  No idea what those other numbers are, the BBB doesn't include them.
