The first line is the color code for the body and top.  462 is Tunis Beige Metallic, a very nice color IMHO.  Your body color is the first reference to 462 and the second is the hard top.  H is the paint manufacturer-G is for Glassurit and I don't recall the paint manufacturer represented by the H.

Perhaps others can help with the remainder of the code-I am not sure if it has ever been completely and definitively been determined what all the lines of the data plate represent.

1971 280sl Tunis Beige Metallic (restored & enhanced)
1971 280sl Tobacco Brown (low mileage stock)
1970 280sl Beach Driver with a touch of rust
1971 280sl Tunis Beige Metallic

The numbers 462 and 462 again are the paint codes for the body and hard top of your car. Check out the "database" page on this site and you will find that 462 is beige metallic (kind of gold-ish, I guess). The rest of the  numbers 113 is the chassis type; 042 designates a 230sl (043 would be a 250sl and 044 a 280sl);  10 means a manual transmission (12 would be an auto). I believe that 03321 is the body number(?). If your hood is original to the car "321" will be stamped on the upper inside lip (where your hand is when you open it). 00352 is the "production number"

For more fun, check out the "search" function on this site as many questions have been asked and answered over and again. Also search "data card" to find out how to get more info on your particular vehicle

H is the paint manufacturer Herberts
The 5 in the first line indicates code 415, i.e. hardtop without softtop; originally the car was ordered without softtop.
The 4 in the second line indicates that the car was delivered in Germany and ordered by a diplomat or NATO member or a (non-US-) tourist.
The last line contains production and body numbers.

Tom...
H is for Herberts or Hurburts (not sure on proper spelling)
Hurberts like Glasurit is also a German paint supplier from Germany. Many times when you see a two tone Pagoda G will be a body color and H a hubcap and hardtop color. Not sure but maybe Hurberts held on to the hubcap and hardtop better than Glasurit?
Cheers all,
Ernie
