Both rear brake carrier plates on a rear axle are damaged and need to be replaced.  This is the plate that holds the outer seal and emergency brake shoes.  I also need a source for the emergency brake shoe expander.  This part is connected to the emergency brake cable end.  Where can these parts be purchased?

Thanks,

Hello Jeff,

The parts look so good in the pictures!  I am almost afraid to ask what happened to them?

Hi Joe,

On the second axle I purchased both plates were bent and broken where the emergency brake shoe expander is located. The piece that is rivited to the plate to keep the shoes apart is in pieces.  On one side the six bolts which hold the splash guard and plate came loose bending the bolts and causing the plate to score the brake drum.  Must have made a terrible noise.  I could see something like that causing an owner of an older car to just give up on it thinking the problem is axle, bearing or gear related. Here is a pic.
