How much for some rear suspension rubbers
« on: November 27, 2006, 04:27:16 »
It seems I have been running close to metal on metal at the back (possibly to do with taking a fully laden car round Europe...). Anyhoo

MB want to charge £139 PER SIDE for the full set of rubbers. SLS have separate items for about £4 each. But for some reason are slow delivering to the mechanic.

So the question is, how much do I need to spend on getting the rust cut out of my car from having it sit outside the mechanics everyday for a month vs the £139 a side? :(

Needless to say, am picking the car up on Wednesday and will schlep it back when the bits come in. Which will be on Thursday, no doubt.

And, married folk, it was my wife who said, "just spend the £139 or pick the damn car up. It'll be cheaper in the long run". She's good, my wife

Hi Tosh,

We changed our rubber parts a year ago during a nut and bolt restoration. We bought most of the spare parts for the restoration - including the rubber parts- from SLS in Hamburg and my experience is that a phone call or two will do wonders. I don't know if you tried this - they do speak English.

Good luck!
