Nick,
I have to agree with Rob, for that high price, it's not a well sorted one.  Too many incorrect and messy things on it.
Not going to go there.

High price!  Yes, if exchanged in dollars.  But for UK, 17k Pounds seems fair and reasonable.

Nick,
Like I said it's best not to pick this car apart.
But to name just a few-firewall pad looks tatty, dash color is not matching the color of car, rockers were painted, brake booster is from a 80's sedan, seat covers have velour inserts,  car is a bit too dirty for a dealer to sell, a few things missing from interior, etc.. This is enough to say for now.  Gasp, now need to get some air in.
I know I've committed the ultimate sin by chucking the gas engine and auto from my 1967 230SL and inserting a diesel and 5 speed manual.  But you cannot see the obvious changes till you know what to look for.
So proceed with flogging me or tossing me out the door.

Nick,

The car is on ebay at what seems to be a more realistic price, although I note the reserve is not met. There is a MUCH nicer white 280 also on Ebay UK that really does look like it's worth the money.

Here's the blue one though (which has been on the site for a good few weeks at least on and off):

Walter,

What makes this car any different than any other car we see for sale??  Is the dealer a Group Member or something?

- Valve cover breather tube vented to ground.
- Strange (home made?) hose between air cleaner and venturi.
- Black paint in engine bay.
- After market gas cap, not original chrome locking cap.
- Oil dip stick from early 230SL.
- No hood strap.
- Poorly fitted trunk mat.  Aren't they trying to make a sale?
- Aftermarket radio.
- No cigarette lighter.

On the other hand, very nice wrapping and routing of spark plug wires!
