Dan Neil, L A Times automotive writer, has the lead story in yesteday's travel section about factories and museums of the German automakers.  It's an informative compilation of visting MB, Audi, BMW and Volkswagen.

Although the download is no longer available to look at, I think learning more about (and visting) the German auto factories would be very interesting!  

Does anyone have a recommended websites or books to explore?
