Is this a barnfind?
« on: December 19, 2006, 08:27:45 »
Was driving the local streets and stumbled across this sad looking 1971 280SL stashed in a carport.
Stuff piled on top in front and hidden behind some junk.  Still didn't escape my prying eyes.
I will need to sum up enough courage to inquire about the car.
Sorry for the blurry picture.
Happy Pagodalidays to all!

I wouldn't need any coaxing to ask about that.  Storm up to the front door.

Hope it gets saved.

Well, I did drop by and got as far as the front door.  But stopped there as I heard some vicious barking from several dogs behind that thin barrier of wood you would call a door.
I think I will wait till a good time and drive my 220SL there and show the owner what can happen to his car in capable hands.
And nah, Johnny, this one will keep it's gas engine in there.  Maybe put one of pagoda starved wannabes in touch with the owner and hopefully get a good german Spaten beer out of the deal.

mistake.  Drive up in the rattiest thing you can find that's non-mb.  Ask about the MG in the carport and let then correct you.  Don't show up with more than 50$ in cash on you and if you like what you see, leave a deposit and get a receipt.

Go back 2 weeks later with your 220SL and show then what you did over nights and weekends. -CTH

Lanier,
Yes it is in DC in the northwest quadrant.
Do you know the car and owner?  Have you tried to buy the car from them?
It is located near my parents place.

Nick, Umm, is that all you are interested in?  The basket?  Maybe you're onto something here.  Keys might be in there along with the title.  Heehee.
