Be gentle - it's my first time
« on: February 11, 2007, 14:57:33 »
Due to some great old posts I read, I am changing my insurance to Hagerty.  They want three photos, so as long as I took 'em, I thought I'd post 'em.

Like I said, it's my first time ever even having photos of the car.  Any input would be apreciated.

Nice Pagoda, David. I've never driven a stick-shift 230 SL, but I'm told they're a lot of fun to drive. Thanks for sharing.

David,

Nice car!  It's very close to mine.  Arabian Grey (124) with Light Natural leather (219).  What color is your interior?  Do you have a data card?

Very nice!

Now for the nit-picking: area behind grill to be painted 'Tiefdunkelgrau' (dark grey or black), ditto for the rocker panels, and I may be mistaken but the car seems to sit a little low in the rear.

Hey Deacon. I think the car looks fantastic. It seems like we are getting a lot of new members from the Bay Area -- I think we better start arranging a gathering... Pete, if you are lurking -- you might want to add David to "the list"...

Cees,

Thanks for the input.  I'm sure you are correct, but I have to do some research.  The car has been in the family for over thirty years and in that time, the rocker panels have never been anything but the body color.  I'm trying to locate original owner, but he sold it in '72 and I just can't imagine having them painted during the first eight years of ownership.

David:
Greetings from Seaside!  That's a beautiful car.  Can you tell me the make and size of the whitewall times?  Did you get them in the Bay Area?
