lower chome fitting

Finally Back from paint    

Busy polishing and installing chrome, lights, bumpers...

Any tricks to installing lower allum. chrome.  I have the blue clips, but not the metal spider spikes.  The blue buttons don't want to go into hles & I hate to make paint filled holes bigger.  Whats the procedure??

Hey Jim. I am jealous of your new paint! I recall the trouble getting the blue guys to cooperate. I was able to get them in -- but then had trouble getting metal to stay on. For some reason, my longer pieces went on fine but the small pieces wouldn't. I tried several ways -- including putting blue tabs on trim first, then pushing the whole thing on. Don't recommend it. It worked on one side but it also made a thumb impression in the metal. Be careful it is soft metal. (I gave up and used double sided tape! [:0])

I recall a thread on this -- it was either here or Dorian's site. I believe Naj had some good advice... Might try a search.

I think a Kauai tech session is in order.  Maybe a group of you experts can come and work on my car... Just a few minor things like a front end rebuild, proper tuneup, new soft top.
