RUBBER SEALS

CAN SOMEONE SUGGEST WHAT MAJOR RUBBER SEALS I SHOULD REPLACE RIGHT AWAY. I REALIZE THERE ARE MANY BUT I WOULD GUESS SOME (SUCH AS THE TRUNK, WINDOWS AND DOORS)ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN OTHERS.

THE CAR IS ALSO GOING TO BE PAINTED SOON ( I HOPE) AND I WOULD THINK THE OLD SEALS SHOULD BE REMOVED SO I GET A CLEANER PAINT JOB.

THANKS

Mike,

When I repainted I was able to remove the windshield and reuse it.  That would be a great job to do now if you can.  Also there are inner fender splash gaskets behind each front tire.  While its not a paint contact point I'd do them as well

The condition of the seals around the (side) windows can have a significant impact on the amount of wind noise you have; so replacing those (front, top and rear) might be a good idea, if they appear to be old/deteriorated.

I would inspect the soft-top compartment seals (will you have the soft-top lid painted?), as any water entering here could collect in the compartment and/or leak into the areas behind the seats and doors. The window seals are also an area that leads to water collecting on the floors. The trunk seal is an easy one, and removing it before the paint-job will make it easier to install a new one afterwards.

If your going to paint the car; I would just go ahead and order a complete kit from Millermbz.com so that all are new.  The kit contained virtually all the seals and the difference in replacing all is dramatic.  I also just had the car repainted.
