fuse box cover gasket get em while you can

so, while detailing the engine bay on my 230 sl, I found I needed a new fuse box cover gasket.

called K&K, buds, and e mailed sls, no one had one.

called the classic center and viola,  mercedes has 138 in germany.

I called my local deaaler asked them to order one for me and 6 days later it was here

part number 000 545 01 80  list 26.83 with my mb club discount it was 18.50 us.

The dealers in our area, NE Ohio, generally give a 10-15% discount if you are a member of MB Club of America. The discount Matt got is quite good, to say the least.

this is interesting.

1. to get the mb club discount, one needs to be a member. the benefits are well worth the membership cost. below is the link

2.  The dealers and other suppliers work off a DEALER suggested price list.  THIS list is different than the once that the CLASSIC center uses.

I always call the classic center and get their pricing. when I order the part I tell my part guy the price classic center quoted me and then I get 10% off that price.  

It helps that my parts guy knows the same contact at the classic center that I talk to.  so when I say paul quoted me this price that is what the dealer uses.
